Tune in Nov. 7 for PowerAmerica’s First Industry-Led Technical Webinar

*PowerAmerica is excited to announce that beginning in November, an industry member will occasionally deliver the institute’s monthly technical webinar. The first will be CoolCAD Electronics, which is leading one of the institute’s first Member-Initiated Projects.*

What: Dr. Akin Akturk, co-founder and vice president of CoolCAD Electronics, a CAD and custom electronics design firm in College Park, MD that carries out R&D projects on a wide cross-section of electronics, will speak about the research his company is doing through PowerAmerica during the institute’s monthly webinar series on Wednesday, Nov. 7. The talk is titled, “Quantifying Power Device Reliability due to Terrestrial Radiation.”

Biography
Dr. Akin Akturk is co-founder and vice president of CoolCAD Electronics LLC located at College Park, MD. He is also part of the research faculty at the University of Maryland. Dr. Akturk earned his Ph.D. in 2006 from the University of Maryland, College Park and has published more than hundred scientific papers on Si and Si material, device and reliability properties. His research interests include electrical and optical measurements of SiC sensors, especially those designed, laid out and fabricated at CoolCAD. Read his full biography.
