PowerAmerica has issued its 2018 Call for Projects, which seeks projects to accelerate the adoption of silicon carbide and gallium nitride wide bandgap power electronics technologies in the United States.

The Call for Projects is primarily focused on the manufacturing of SiC and GaN power semiconductor devices, wide bandgap power electronics architectures and assemblies, and packaging and manufacturing processes with the potential to improve performance, lower cost, and create U.S. manufacturing jobs. Demonstration of WBG devices in high volume commercially viable power electronic applications is desired.

Teaming between companies, and between companies/national laboratories/universities is required.

The concept paper submission is due on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 9 p.m. EDT. All projects require a 1:1 cost share.
