David Henshall<\/a> is Vice President of Business Development and Government Relations at Semiconductor Research Corporation. Dave’s primary role involves creating and growing partnerships with government and industry to expand their semiconductor research portfolio. This not only provides a larger pipeline of technologies but also ensures a steady flow of graduating students into the industry. These technologies drive SRC member profits and market share. Dave doesn’t just lead; he inspires, empowers, and delivers results that redefine what’s possible.

Henshall was a federal employee for six years working at both DARPA and ARPA-E where he co-created the DARPA MTO Transition Accelerator and served as the Deputy Director of Commercialization to support the transition of federally funded technologies towards manufacturing. Prior to government, Henshall spent 20 years in industry working in the field of wide bandgap semiconductors to support the LED, RF, and power electronics industries. While in industry he led an operations organization of 200 employees, created and managed a profitable business supplying engineered substrates to Micron Technologies, and performed research that helped make LED lighting ubiquitous.

He received his B.S. and M.S. in Ceramic Engineering and Science from Alfred University, has authored and co-authored over 20 research papers, and holds one patent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When not working, Dave enjoys spending time with his family, volunteering, and learning about power tools while refurbishing his house.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/p>\n <\/details>\n\n\n

Robert Geer is a Professor of Nanoscale Science in SUNY Polytechnic Institute\u2019s College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE). Professor Geer is the Executive Director of the NSF-funded Northeast Advanced Technological Education Center (NEATEC) based at NYCREATES\u2019 300mm Si wafer prototyping facility. Professor Geer also serves as the Director of Education and Workforce Development for AIM Photonics, a Manufacturing-USA institute. Professor Geer\u2019s team develops and promotes advanced education and training program development for the U.S. semiconductor, integrated photonics, and nanotechnology manufacturing industries. He has led the development of a range of workforce training programs for the semiconductor industry including technician training programs for several chip manufacturers and toolmakers. Professor Geer\u2019s education-development team has also recently founded a DoD SkillBridge training program, the VET Semiconductor Training and Experience Program (VET S.T.E.P.) to provide skills to transitioning U.S. military personnel for semiconductor manufacturing. In addition, Prof. Geer has led a wide range of research programs at SUNY Poly which include design, development and fabrication of novel 3D integrated circuits, investigation of variability and manufacturability of integrated photonics devices and structures, reliability of resistive RAM, development of graphene for next-generation interconnects, Si-based nanowire materials for energy applications and integrated circuits, and development of nanoscale metrology tools for measurement and characterization of nanodevice structures. His research has been supported by: NSF, GlobalFoundries, IBM, AMD, ONR, the New York State Office of Academic Research and Technology, International Sematech, AFOSR, DARPA, and the SRC. Professor Geer has presented over 75 papers at technical conferences and has published more than 100 articles, book chapters, or proceedings on nanoscale materials, devices, and nanoscale characterization.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/p>\n <\/details>\n\n\n

Dr. Isik C. Kizilyalli is an entrepreneur with strong interests in electrification, energy transition, resiliency, and climate adaptation. Last academic year he served as the Sr. Director of Technology at Stanford University School of Sustainability, the Accelerator. Previously, Kizilyalli served as the Associate Director of Technology and Program Director at ARPA-E. Before joining ARPA-E, Kizilyalli was founder and CEO\/CTO of Avogy Inc. (vertical GaN devices) and Zolt Inc., venture backed power electronics start-ups. At the 2015 International Consumer Electronics Show Zolt Inc. was a CES Best of Innovation Awards Honoree and a Top Pick CES (by Laptop Magazine). He started his career and was technical manager at AT&T Bell Laboratories (and its spin outs). He is credited with the development of transistors for multiple generations of CMOS technologies, novel InP optoelectronics, RF LDMOS, and the discovery of hydrogen\/deuterium isotope effect in hot electron degradation in CMOS. He was the VP of Engineering at Nitronex (1st GaN on Si RF HEMT) and a technical founder at solar PV startup Alta Devices, where his team still holds the world record for single junction solar cell conversion efficiency. Kizilyalli was elected a Fellow of the IEEE for his contributions to “Integrated Circuit Technology” in 2007. He also received the Bell Laboratories\u2019 Distinguished Member of Technical Staff award. He has published a Springer-Nature book and has two more books in print. Dr. Kizilyalli has published more than 100 papers and holds 127 issued U.S. patents. Kizilyalli received his B.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering all from the University of Illinois (Urbana).<\/p>\n\n\n <\/p>\n <\/details>\n\n\n
