PowerAmerica Celebrates Three Years of Independent Operation
PowerAmerica proudly celebrates three years (April 2021 through April 2024) of independent, self-sustained operation. During this time, we have not received Department of Energy funding and have been supported exclusively by our members, user fees and other revenue-generating activities. We are proud of this achievement and extremely grateful to our loyal members for their continued support.
During this time we have continued to deliver value to the WBG community in these important ways:
- Funded pre-competitive Member Initiated Projects in SiC and GaN to address industry-wide challenges in chip fabrication, packaging and applications
- Supported undergraduate student scholarships and graduate student research that help to educate the next generation of WBG professionals
- Offered technical webinars and the annual WBG Short Course to help acclimate working professionals on the use of SiC and GaN in all areas of the value chain
- Promoted WBG technology and our members around the world at industry conferences, technical symposia and other venues
- Strengthened the WBG ecosystem with annual events drawing hundreds of industry, universities and national labs by growing our membership to 90 active members
